Deputy Executive Director
Juan Leonardo Negron-Diaz joined the Puerto Rico Federal Affairs Administration (PRFAA) in September of 2019 to serve as the Deputy Executive Director. Previously, Juan Leonardo served as Director of Programs and External Affairs at the Congressional Hispanic Leadership Institute (CHLI), and before that, he served as the Director of Operations to Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03).
After several academic and professional experiences, and upon graduating from the University of Puerto Rico, Juan became the Communications Assistant to Congressman Pedro Pierluisi’s Congressional Office.
As part of his professional experiences and endeavors, Juan Leonardo was an intern at the U.S. House of Representatives, Office of Congressman Pedro Pierluisi. He also interned at the Federal Aviation Administration, Office of Rulemaking, where he had the opportunity to develop a communications campaign for the Unmanned Aircraft System regulatory and registration procedures.
He volunteers at several organizations in Puerto Rico and Washington, D.C. such as the American Cancer Association of Puerto Rico, Mary’s Center in Washington, DC, and the American Academy of Pediatrics, among others. Recently, Juan was elected as the Communications Director for the University of Puerto Rico’s Alumni and Friends Association. During his time at the University of Puerto Rico, Juan served as Vice-President of the Pre-Law Society, Delegate of the Honor’s Program, and member of the Advertising and Public Relations Association.
Juan graduated from the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus, Honors Program, majoring in Advertising and Public Relations. He completed a Masters of Arts in Public and Media Relations at Johns Hopkins University in 2017.
Recently, Juan was recognized as a Global Leader at the Forbes 30 Under 30 Global Summit in Israel.
Juan Leonardo Negrón-Díaz was born San Juan, Puerto Rico, raised in Humacao, PR, and now resides in Washington, D.C.
