Florida Regional Director
Anthony currently serves as the Florida Region Director of the Puerto Rico Federal Affairs Administration (PRFAA). Prior to his appointment as Region Director, he served as PRFAA’s District of Columbia Office Policy Advisor in the Government Affairs division where he lead on the policy portfolios of Recovery, Labor, Telecommunications, Military-Veteran affairs and the Islands Status where he was the Lead Advisor of the Puerto Rico Statehood Commission. In this role, Anthony advised the agency and helped navigate the federal policy and advocacy efforts before the Executive and Legislative branches of the United States government.
In 2018, prior to joining PRFAA, Anthony worked as a Legal Advisor for the Chancellor of the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras Campus.
From 2015-2016, Anthony was the only Puerto Rican appointed by former Secretary of State Hillary R. Clinton to serve in her 2016 Presidential campaign’s Millennial Vote National Advisory Committee where he also served as a National surrogate. Moreover, from 2011-2015 Anthony was the Co-Founder and elected Chairman of the Young Democrats of America Hispanic Caucus, the largest Youth Hispanic democratic organization promoting voter education and outreach in the United States.
From 2010-2013 , Anthony served as an assistant to the Puerto Rico Secretary of State in the Auxiliary Secretary of Examining Boards where he worked closely promoting the well-being of over 200,000 working professionals in the island.
Anthony proudly began his policy career from 2006-2009 as a Legislative Assistant in the Puerto Rico House of Representatives, working with the Socioeconomic, Development and Telecommunications Committee in the island’s Capitol building.
Anthony received his Master’s Degree in Public Administration and Financial Policy and his Bachelor Degree in Political Science, both from the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras Campus. Anthony attended the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico in Ponce for his Juris Doctor and was admitted in 2016 by the Puerto Rico Supreme Court. Anthony is currently working towards completing his PhD. In Puerto Rico History at the Center for Advance Studies for Puerto Rico and the Caribbean. Anthony is an Army Veteran and currently holds the Rank of Captain serving as a Judge Advocate in the United States Army Reserve, 174TH Legal Operations Detachment, Puerto Rico Team. In his spare time, Anthony enjoys the seas, plays piano and volunteers for multiple civil rights and veteran advocacy organizations. Lastly, Anthony is originally from the city of Canóvanas, Puerto Rico and relocated to the City of Orlando, Florida to assume the role of PRFAA Florida Regional Director.
