“In May 2020, PRFAA announced the creation of an online appointment portal in order to provide continuous services during the COVID-19 pandemic: www.prfaa.pr.gov/book. With this portal, we have continuously served the community of over 1.2 million Puerto Ricans in the State of Florida. Our offices provided in-person services during the pandemic through the only Integrated Services Center (CSI, per its Spanish acronym) outside of Puerto Rico in Orlando, Florida. With these new services, citizens can obtain their vital certificates, such as the birth certificate, marriage certificate, death certificate, as well as being able to apostille their documents, among other services such as access to the Puerto Rico driver record and certifications from the Child Support Agency (ASUME per its Spanish acronym).

“Today, in collaboration with the Puerto Rico Departments of Treasury and Health, we are pleased to announce new services for the entire Puerto Rican community and new options to acquire internal revenue stamps digitally as well as essential Puerto Rico documents remotely, such as the birth certificate. We thank the Secretary of Treasury, Francisco Parés, the Secretary of Health, Lorenzo González, and the Director of the Demographic Registry of Puerto Rico, Wanda Llovet, for their commitment and collaboration in this effort for the benefit of the Puerto Rican community”, concluded Jennifer M. Storipan, Esq., Executive Director of the Puerto Rico Federal Affairs Administration.

With these new services and initiatives called “colecturía digital” and www.renovacionesonline.com,   the Puerto Rican community in Florida will be able to easily acquire their internal revenue stamps digitally from their mobile device or iPad and to validate it quickly upon arriving to their service appointment, substantially shortening in-person contact and the waiting time to acquire their documents; secondly, they may also request  their essential documents through the said portal and collect them by means of an appointment at their best convenience. Like many Government agencies across the nation, direct services to citizens have been affected by the pandemic; however, with these new initiatives, we continue to offer our community  direct support and service alternatives”, concluded Mr. Carrillo, Esq.
