PRFAA Coordinates Senator Richard Blumenthal Visit to Puerto Rico to Discuss Disaster Recovery after Recent Earthquakes

(February 21, 2020 Guánica, P.R.) – On February 21-23th, 2020, Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), joined by the Deputy Director of the Puerto Rico Federal Affairs Administration (PRFAA), Juan L. Negrón will meet with Governor Wanda Vázquez Garced and Puerto Rico officials. During his time in Puerto Rico, the Senator will visit the municipalities of Guánica, Guayanilla, and Ponce as well as the refugee camps located in the south and southwest region of the island.

Senator Blumenthal will meet with officials from the Puerto Rico’s Central Office of Recovery, Reconstruction and Resilience (COR3), the Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA), and the Costa Sur Power Plant to discuss initiatives that ensure an effective reconstruction and rehabilitation in the affected parts of the island. Additionally, the Senator will visit the temporary education facility that provides affected children access to education and the Migrant Health Center that provides health resources to affected individuals.
