Official Statement Jennifer M. Storipan, Esq.

(January 7, 2020 – Washington, D.C.) “Today at 4:24 am, Puerto Rico experienced a 6.4 magnitude earthquake. The earthquake was widely felt on the island and we are continuing to address the damages to infrastructure, roads, and overall threats to health & safety. As officials on the island continue to assess damages, PRFAA is working with Congress and the Administration to provide information and updates on the status of the island and its residents. We will work to ensure that Governor Vázquez Garced’s request for an Emergency Declaration is approved by the President as we move forward with the recovery of Puerto Rico. It is crucial that residents remain calm and vigilant as the aftershocks continue to happen. Our priority is the safety and security of all the people on the island.”
