(February 2, 2017 – San Juan, Puerto Rico) Puerto Rico Governor Ricardo Rosselló is looking forward to working with the Nation’s top health official, Secretary of Health and Human Services Tom Price, in an effort to further improve and address the current deficiencies in the healthcare system of Puerto Rico.
During the confirmation hearing, Price addressed Puerto Rico: “We have to absolutely find resources that guarantee that they have the healthcare that they need. They are U.S. citizens and we have to assume that responsibility with seriousness.”
In a written statement, the Governor said he is presenting “bold initiatives to solve the fiscal crisis and encourage economic growth. Within that framework, safeguarding the health of our people is the top priority. We are eager to work together with Secretary Price on the path forward towards a just solution to healthcare in Puerto Rico.”
